Airtanker

This is a 27-year PFI/PPP concession known as the Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft (“FSTA”) contract. The FSTA consists of a fleet of 14 specifically adapted Airbus A330-200 Air-to-Air Refuelling (“AAR”) and Air Transport (“AT”) aircraft for the Royal Air Force (“RAF”), known as Voyagers. The FSTA also includes the provision of the necessary supporting infrastructure including a two-bay hangar, training, maintenance, flight operations, fleet management and ground services.

The concession ends in March 2035 and includes the provision of a further extension for 10 years.

Revenue comes from both availability and demand in terms of flying hours and type of usage, in addition the non-core fleet is available to derive third party revenues from commercial airline services as well as the use of the training and maintenance facilities.

The client is the Ministry of Defence.

Equitix holds a 38.5% interest in the project, alongside co shareholders Thales and Airbus.
